Until

If I could

 Hold onto

 Any handle

          Any grasp

         Or cliff cleft

 Could I drift into

       Unbecoming

        Into white space

               White noise

          Until a single breath

               Of wind

             Is expelled

        And we are punished

        Until

       We flirt in between

               This liminal space

        Until

        We speed up

      This particle accelerator

       Until

      We find

       The life so divine

       Until

       I find

       All my non perishables

       stolen

     Until

    We find a semblance

       Of the garden

    And the fountain

     overflowed

     Until

     My head is

   Anointed with perfume

    And oil

  Until

     My resolve

    Is unsolved

  Until we emerge

   From the crucible

      Unscathed

       Without an odor

    or smell

Yarn

a tear
in the fabric
pull out a thread
unravel a ball of yarn
several years
lead me
to meet my Maker
raise the knife
to slay the ram
saying it was for the Creator
to test you
what a ruse
to hold a sham hand
a full house
built on sand
the boy prowls around the city
with a head full of bees
eyes full glass
pouring over words
from a text
what was truthful
but brutal
I won’t spill my intestines
on the ground
but spin it
into Joseph’s Robe
to clothe my nakedness
wrapping around my insecurities
somewhere in this piercing pain
is an opening to
put your hand into someone’s chest
and knit your heart

with theirs

affirmation

want all this affirmation

 in this filtered concoction

go about our days without challenge

  reinforce our world view

     the apotheosis of philosophies

     even without self-reflection

all preconceived notions hung on that linchpin

   get bored

           lonely

         throw it out

           draw attention

             feign humility

             draw insanity

            multifold motivations

           perpetual incongruent

          know a little about everything

          except our own pulse

         stop commodizing my

            emotions

           my need for affirmation

my need to change the world

           my need to be admired

           my need to be useful

           my need for attention

            come tear me apart

             reduce me to

                  ashes

               help me

             find a shadowy reflection

burnt on the fingerprints of a newborn

coursing through the life of the umbilical cord

                   unmake me, smash me

so this hurricane can piece together a jigsaw puzzle

Tether me to your heart  again

Short/ Long Term

get a spurt of adreneline
for the short term
a dopimine rush
sugar rush
click, flash, upload
oxytocin
bonding to the dissipating
fall for the maniquines
coupling with a ghost
perform as the harlot
for more then dozen
gouge out my eyes and throw it away
oh you want it physical
up the ante to critical
hell is  digital
with everything accessible
at my finger tips
but didn’t God touch us
and not give us a touch screen
live for the short term
spurn the long term

shutdown, sleep, hibernate
black out, unplug
I wanna live
and breath
for more than an upvote
for more than a like

more than a digital clone

balance

a curiousity
pins drop in succession
a rumination of distractions
carefully poised for picking
individually sold for sinking
a matter of an overexposure to light
a melancholy overattachment to nothing
forty days, forty nights
what a strange rite
“multiply” he tempted
“simplify” I countered
finding balance in both chaos
and order

Percentage

what began as frivolity
became inequality
seeing the world through keyhole
so sweat off the baltic sea
bring back these forgotten memories to me
these enzymes fuel this reaction
putting us on cruise control
another pinky promise
was fractured and broken
a fossil calcified
now being uncovered, mended
being slowly apprehended
stubborn unyoked animal will
is land to be tilled
long for such a reality
in more than 140 characters
to be fully fleshed out
rather than a buffet line of images
take, chew, spit out repeat
haven’t grown past baby teeth
we never swallow
making us hollow
this untouchable image
reveals to us our 1 percentage

Berkeley

i hope that you can forget
as if we never met
your intj mask showing
a warm body to grow on
she don’t smile too widely
tries too hard to be wallpaper
walks forward without hesitation
but you’re going to Berkeley
and me becoming clergy
what’s the point of pop infatuations?
when you’re confusing reality and fiction
and maybe you are only a codex
I could never find

Inner most

i am that echo
silently singing
slowly writhing
always conniving
simple addition
chemical affliction
life is birthed
in closets and attics
and pantomime
each movement and representation
a chess match dance
always resting on the cusp of…
a fallen angel
or an uncharted territory
reaping where we haven’t sown
treading into danger
unheading suspicious strangers
wandering into the outer reaches
until we find ourselves resting
in our innermost being

Shapes

every one was a different shape
squares, rectangles, hexagons, pentagons
all polygons
what quandaries
doing laundry
sitting awkwardly
laying vulnerably
and integrity
she shed a tear
bound in fear
expectations
buried in sea
written on papers
placed in that urn
to cremation
could we all
surrender
and be new creations

reset

you can discover this new playing field
and escape this tedium
you ain’t no medium
blood’s in the water
and the sharks don’t bother
they crave attention
but receive no mention
stick apples in their mouths
and roast this rotisserie
in this misery
the flames lick up
as the rest sucked up
you’re nothing but a hound dog
never catching a rabbit
keep on running to the sun
and it kept on setting
and subsequently begetting

resting
