Swallowed by a fish

you swallowed me
in the depths of the sea
bubbles were my necklace
when I knew I was reckless
and those jagged white jems showed
a pink cushion for me to rest
and this milestone wasn’t my grave
especially since I haven’t shaved
elbow patches and candle light delivers me
We all knew the reaping would come soon
but you were a bride sleeping, rather than waiting
your light went out
and you became a robber
We all get swallowed by a fish
when we get a suburban itch
I am hapless, hopeless
Ritalin won’t help me now
especially when we leave the crowd
Your black and white photograph
won’t make me any less lonely
blue skies and bald eagles
try to guide be back home
to where I went
but this isn’t some proposition
Just leave me alone
because I am not your hospital patient

You know It

Then when you see it
you think “Oh God you know it”
you knew it from the day you were born
it was just melting, molting in your core
revolving, multipling into something unimaginable
and all choices, every millimeter of turning left or right
twisting and turning, through dead ends and long hallways
through school play grounds, battle grounds,  mine fields
through polluted lands, dessert sands, concert bands
led to this singular, euphoric moment
of angels feathers falling, time stopping
there was no deviating from the course given course
as fate and free will danced around fencing one another
and lo behold they consummated together
devouring one another
blessed intermingling
and you know it
and we all knew it
from the very beginning
before the pillars of the earth were formed
We were Made for this.

Decompression (experimentation)

Compression of hurricane winds

into enclosed bellows

is far from healthy.

And if indeed we suppress

these frenzies

and hide behind implanted apologies;

we would have done wrong.

I am a playwright.

I’m not an actor

–who follows the correct script,

We are off-the cuff

Off the cues or formats

A trail blazer, who leaves no foot prints

Naught a thread or speck of dust

And yet again the judges and doubters come

Blind with logs in their eyes

They cannot see, or experience, all you have

Presumptions layered on presumptions until truth is buried

And so do not prod along so downtrodden

Walk as you would walk a free-man, pardoned from trial

Be as if you were, unfettered from the opinion of others

If you are happy- smile, laugh, celebrate

If you are sad- weep bitter tears

If you are angry- scream, curse your birth

Why live like half-humans, lifeless, emotionless?

Be as you were, as the fully, flesh human being permeable to the weathers of this world.

For we all walk this life together in the same shoes.
